On Soundings

Daily workshops in the surrounding rural landscapes of Topolò. We focused on listening, movement and internal vocal resonance.

The workshops took place during the Robida Summer School, Academy of Margins 2025.

We walk down slowly
Through the village
In silence except for
Our feet
Meeting the uneven
Paving stones

Making our way to the bottom
Leaving the houses behind
We find a grassy path
Winding its
Way
Down

We come to a steep
Slope
Rough patches of grass and dirt
Married with an open
Structure
Of adjoined
Wooden
Beams

The trunks provide
Our bodies a home
A place for us
To settle
And extend from

Amongst an assembly
Of other ears
We listen to the geography
Of our collective bodies
The surrounding borders
Hedges
Forest and valley

We stretch out
As far as we can
We contract
Back
As close as we can
We are situated in activity
And rest
